A Beaumont church was destroyed in a Monday night fire. The blaze broke out at about 10:00 at Central City Baptist Church in the “Avenues” neighborhood, just southwest of downtown.
The Beaumont Fire Department was able to keep the flames from spreading to a house directly behind the church building.
Now, investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire, which they say does not appear to have been intentionally set.
