Auto pedestrian accident takes life in Orange County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 near the 874 mile marker between Vidor and Orange. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at 10:55 p.m. Thursday, the driver of a 2017 Toyota Camry was traveling east and struck a pedestrian who entered the roadway. The pedestrian died at the scene. The DPS hasn't yet released the victim's name. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 30-year-old Cameron Williams of Harlingen, wasn't injured. This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time.
