ATHENS, Texas (KLTV) - An Athens man was arrested Wednesday after Henderson County narcotics investigators found drugs and guns on his property.
According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, about 1:37 p.m., narcotics investigators and deputies searched the property of Russell Kent Hambrick, 65, of Athens, in the 200 block of Palmetto Avenue.
Inside one of Hambrick’s vehicles, investigators found several baggies of marijuana prepackaged for sale, multiple guns and a large amount of cash, the sheriff’s office said.
The press release said investigators found suspected meth inside a plastic container in one of Hambrick’s pickup trucks, along with several small plastic baggies and digital scales, which are commonly used in narcotic distribution. More guns and cash were also found, the release said.
Hambrick was arrested on charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, unlawfully carrying a weapon and possession of a prohibited substance and items in a correctional facility, the sheriff’s office said.
