June 30 is proclaimed by Governor John Bel Edwards as Arthrogryposis Awareness Month and June 30 as AMC Awareness Day. AMC involves a variety of non-progressive conditions characterized by multiple joint contractures and involves muscle weakness found throughout the body at birth. Pictured here is State Representative Rodney Schamerhorn presenting Paisley Langton with the Proclamation along with her parents, Blake and Crystal, and her brother, Ethan. You cannot keep Paisley down! She will begin Kindergarten at Many Elementary School in August and has already attended Pre-school there for two years. Her beautiful smile is contagious.
