Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan says a man accused of stealing another man’s money has been captured and arrested.
Bree Sparks-Nichols, who is the wife of the victim, Donavon Nichols, said it occurred Wednesday afternoon at their home on Farm to Market Road 1004 near Buna. She said the suspect, an 18-year-old from Silsbee, took approximately $8,000.00 from her husband's truck.
Duncan said the suspect was spotted and stopped a short time later on Highway 96 at the Evadale overpass, and he was arrested after the money was found in his possession.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released pending formal charges at arraignment.
