All four suspects in May robbery are in custody

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Jasper Police are now saying that all four suspects wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery alleged to have occurred in early May on the south side of town have been arrested.

Captain Terry Patrick said the arrests came after investigators identified the suspects in the case and went before a judge and obtained arrest warrants for those individuals.

According to Patrick, the first arrest was made shortly after 10:00 on Wednesday morning, when a warrant was served on a teenaged boy at the Timbers Apartments in the 800 block of West Gibson Street, across from Walmart. However, the name of the suspect has not been released due to his age and word is that he has been turned over to juvenile authorities.

Apparently hearing warrants had been issued for their arrest, the three other suspects turned themselves in at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department later in the day.

The suspects, brothers Jayvian Johnson, 18 and Jordan Johnson, 17, along with Kentalyn Simmons, 17, later appeared before a judge who officially charged them with Aggravated Robbery and set bond on all three at $500,000 each and at last word, all three remained in the Jasper County Jail.

The suspects are accused of robbing a man at gunpoint at his home on Shady Lane.
