The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the discovery of a body and an alleged murder. Deputies say the investigation began early Wednesday morning when the body of an eighteen-year-old was found lying on the shoulder of Highway 96 in Buna. According to Deputy Karli Cherry, the discovery came shortly after 2:00 in front of the Tractor Supply Store. Very little information has been released. However, officers have identified the deceased as Arthur Logan Orosco, of Buna and Jasper County Sheriff Mitchell says that a suspect has been identified and arrested in the case. Deputy Cherry says a Justice of the Peace has ordered an autopsy. However, Newman says Orozco died from a gunshot wound. Additional information concerning the death and the name of the suspect has not been released pending formal charges and arraignment.
