Health officials in Louisiana are now reporting there are 27,660 cases of coronavirus reported in the state. There have been 1,802 deaths reported. All of Louisiana's 64 parishes have reported cases.
In Central Louisiana, as of April 29, the cases are:
Allen Parish: 90 cases, 9 deaths
Avoyelles Parish: 71 cases, 7 deaths
Beauregard Parish: 37 cases, 3 deaths
Catahoula Parish: 35 cases, 2 deaths
Concordia Parish: 36 cases, 4 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 49 cases
Grant Parish: 12 cases
LaSalle Parish: 22 cases
Rapides Parish: 259 cases, 10 deaths
Natchitoches Parish: 79 cases, 4 deaths
Sabine Parish: 16 cases, 1 death
St. Landry: 172 cases, 39 deaths
Vernon Parish: 16 cases, 2 deaths
Winn Parish: 26 cases, 2 deaths
Currently, 1,629 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. Of those, 244 patients require ventilators.
Presumed recovered as of April 26: 17,303
A person is presumed recovered if:
1) it has been more than 14 days since he/she tested positive and he/she is not currently in the hospital or deceased (when hospital status is known), or
2) it has been more than 21 days since he/she tested positive and he/she is not deceased (when hospital status is unknown).
LDH will update recovery data weekly on Mondays.
As of April 27, 56.25% of COVID-19 deaths in Louisiana occurred among African Americans, and 34.34% occurred among white residents. The top three underlying conditions among COVID-19 deaths are hypertension (56.15%), diabetes (34.73%) and chronic kidney disease (20.11%).
The state reported a 58-year-old with underlying health conditions being treated at Touro Infirmary in Orleans Parish died Saturday, March 14, marking the first death in Louisiana.
The ages of Rapides Parish deaths: 76, 79, 79, 69 according to Office of Public Health.

Governor John Bel Edwards on Sunday, March 22 issued a stay at home order for the state that will begin Monday, March 23. The order is set to expire at the end of the night on Thursday, April 30.
