The city of Mansfield will have to wait until April to see who their next Mayor will be.
Saturday was election night for about 2/3rds of Louisiana. For the folks in Mansfield, that meant choosing a new mayor and picking the city's five aldermen.?
With incumbent Mayor Curtis McCoy not on the ballot, five candidates qualified for the seat.
Incomplete but unofficial results, Thomas Jones led all candidates with 37%. He'll be in a runoff with John Mayweather, who came in second with 27%.
In the Mansfield Aldermen races, District A Alderman Mary Green, District C Alderman Mitchell Lewis, and District D Alderman Joseph Hall, Jr. all won re-election.
In District E, incumbent Kervin Campbell is in a runoff with challenger Rita Myles. Each candidate got 42% of the vote
Christopher Thomas will be a new face on the board. Of the three candidates vying for the office, Thomas won the seat outright with 58% of the vote.
Caddo, Natchitoches and Webster Parishes were the only other parts of northwest Louisiana with items on the ballot. Click here to see the rest of Saturday night's election results.
