A 52-year-old Jasper man was injured in a four-vehicle chain-reaction wreck that occurred near the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and Marvin Hancock on New Year’s Day.
The crash occurred at about 8:12 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the crash report, Michael Carlile, 58, of Dequincy, Louisiana, was driving a gray 2016 Ford F-150XLT west on Highway 190 when he failed to stop at the Marvin Hancock intersection, and his pickup struck a silver 2016 Ford F-150XLT driven by Anthony Louis Williams, 52, of Jasper.
At that point, both pickups left the road, according to the crash report. The silver Ford F-150XLT was pushed into a silver 2010 Honda Accord driven by Shabri Mikaila Holloway, 18, of Vidor. The Accord then moved forward and hit a gray 2019 Nissan Altima driven by Shirley Hadnot Bevil, 67, of Jasper.
Williams suffered an incapacitating injury, according to the crash report. An Acadian EMS ambulance transported him to Jasper Memorial. No one else, including Carlile’s passenger, was injured in the wreck.
Carlile was cited for failure to control speed, according to the crash report.
