LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Three people from Southwest Louisiana are facing charges after authorities seized over 85 pounds of methamphetamine from a parked car.
Louisiana State Police arrested the following suspects:
- Brent Touchet, 48, of Lake Charles
- Jessica Robinson, 45, of Lake Charles
- Josh Reeves, 41, of Sulphur
On Dec. 2, LSP and the Calcasieu Parish Anti-Drug Task Force began investigating Touchet, a known drug trafficker in Calcasieu Parish, LSP Trooper Roy Jones said. Investigators saw Touchet, Robinson, and Reeves leaving a Lake Charles hotel together.
Authorities pulled over Reeves for traffic violations and conducted a probable cause search of his vehicle, Jones said. Touchet, Robinson, and Reeves were each arrested on counts of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators also determined that the vehicle was stolen, Jones said.
LSP also knew of a vehicle that Touchet had left unattended at an area casino, Jones said. After obtaining warrants, investigators searched the vehicle, along with Touchet and Robinson’s hotel room.
During the search, investigators found over 85 lbs. of methamphetamine and a handgun concealed in the trunk of Touchet’s vehicle, according to Jones.
Touchet, Robinson, and Reeves were booked and processed at the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. 7News has requested their mugshots.
