3 vehicles, guns stolen overnight near Natchitoches, Natchez

NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Natchitoches Parish sheriff's detectives are investigating a series of overnight auto thefts and burglaries near Natchitoches and Natchez, according to Sheriff Stuart Wright. Three vehicles -- 2022 GMC Yukon, 2008 Toyota 4Runner and Lexus NX3 -- along with handguns and other items were reported stolen. Three people, including an adult and two juveniles, are in custody so far after a state trooper stopped them Wednesday morning in the Yukon near Shreveport. The adult, Kamryn Darnel Garner, 18, of Natchitoches, is held in the Caddo Correctional Center on three counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and one count each of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. No bond is set. Hours later, the Toyota was found in Natchez. And by late afternoon, the Lexus was located unoccupied at a mobile home park on Blanchard Road in Natchitoches. No arrests have been made in connection with the recovery of those two; however, the investigation is ongoing. Homeowners living in the 1100-1200 block of Miller Farm Road in Natchitoches and 400-500 block of Riverview Drive near Natchez started calling the 911 Center around 5 a.m. to report the vehicle thefts and burglaries. Detectives said in each case, the vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside. They are attempting to locate the remaining stolen vehicle and suspects involved. The sheriff reminds people to lock their cars and not to leave firearms or other valuables inside.
