LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Three people are facing charges after a man was shot and killed on West 18th Street in Lake Charles.
Kenneth Landry, 23, was shot around 7 p.m. on March 25 near an apartment complex at the end of the road, Lake Charles police said. Officers responding to the shooting tried to save Landry’s life, but he died from his injuries.
The violence started when two fistfights broke out among a crowd of people, police said. Landry was not involved in the fights.
Malichi Monroe Frank, 20, who was involved in one of the fights, and Nehemiah Dwayne Jordan, 19, both fired shots into the crowd, police said. No one was hurt.
Felicia Ann Godson, 44, who was not involved in the fights, then fired several shots in the direction of 18th Street, police said. One of the shots hit Landry.
Frank and Jordan were arrested the next afternoon on charges of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons. Their bonds were each set at $825,000.
Godson was arrested today on Avenue H on a count of second-degree murder. She is held without bond.
