RUSK COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - Two motorcyclists died on April 23 after reportedly hitting a cow on a Rusk County road. According to a Texas DPS crash report, the first incident happened around 2:28 a.m. April 23 on CR 2142 six miles south of Tatum. Jerry Moore, 58, of Tatum, was riding a Honda motorcycle northbound when he struck a cow in the roadway and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Soon after, Michael Moore, 53, of Tatum, struck the cow that had been hit in the previous accident while also riding a Honda motorcycle, the report said. Moore was thrown from his motorcycle, the report said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
