LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) - The Livingston Police Department has arrested two people on charges related to alleged burglary reports.
According to police, on January 17 two burglary reports came in, and investigation determined that they were related.
First was the theft of a chainsaw from a tree service truck; second was the burglary of a gas station, where a chainsaw was used to enter the building and lottery tickets were stolen. Police say both incidents occurred within the same area and during the same time period.
Livingston detectives say they identified the suspect as Carmen Henderson, 46, of Livingston. As they investigated, they found that Henderson’s girlfriend, Nephrateri Sincere Jones, 28, of Livingston, had allegedly cashed the stolen lottery tickets. They amounted to over $1,000, per police.
On January 24 during the early morning hours, night shift patrol officers were sent to check out a theft in progress at a body shop located on U.S. Highway 59 South. Officers located the suspect, who was identified as Carmen Henderson. Henderson was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, police said.
Henderson was located with Nephrateri Jones, and both were taken into custody.
Henderson was charged with burglary of a building, burglary of a vehicle, claiming lottery prize by fraud, theft of property, and possession of a controlled substance.
Jones was charged with claiming lottery prize by fraud.
