JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A 17 year old is in jail, charged with burglary of a habitation.
He has been identified as Jacob Hunter James, of Jasper.
On Tuesday, July 22, at approximately 11:28 a.m., the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reports they received a call regarding a burglary near the intersection of Highway 63 West and Recreation Road 255.
The burglary had occurred several days before while the property owner was out of town, the sheriff’s office said.
While at the scene, investigators were told 24 guns were taken from the residence without the owner’s permission. A short time later, an investigator was able to secure information leading to the identification of and arrest warrants for two suspects, an adult and a juvenile.
James is identified as the adult suspect. The juvenile’s name and picture will not be released, the sheriff’s office said, but he was taken into custody and taken to a juvenile facility and charged with burglary of a habitation.
