COUSHATTA, La. - A 10-year-old juvenile is facing several charges after allegedly making terrorizing threats against Red River Parish schools. On Wednesday, Red River Parish deputies received a call from a person about a post made on social media that indicated a threat to Red River Parish schools. The sheriff's office said additional deputies were sent to patrol all schools to ensure safety. The Coushatta Police Department also sent officers. Red River Parish schools Superintendent Allison Strong activated school lockdown protocols at all facilities and notified all parents through the school systems “Parent Square“ alert system. The original post was traced to a 10-year-old juvenile who is a current student at Red River Elementary School. The student’s mother on Friday voluntarily took the juvenile to the sheriff's office, where he was charged with terrorizing and unlawful disruption of the operation of a school. He was taken to Ware Youth Center pending juvenile court proceedings next week.
