WOOD COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A person was killed in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday in Wood County, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed.
The collision happened around 6 p.m. on U.S. Route 69, about four miles north of Mineola, roughly a mile south of the Farm-to-Market Road 779 intersection.
For reasons unknown, a northbound Ford Fusion ran off the road and hit a traffic barrier before crossing the center line and colliding with a southbound Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a semi-trailer, DPS spokesperson Adam Albritton said.
The car’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene; his identity has not been released, Albritton said.
