HARRISON, Texas (KLTV) - A shooting in Harrison County resulted in the death of a man Tuesday morning. According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, a call regarding a shooting on Lazy Lake Road just south-east of Ore City was put in around 7:47 a.m. Deputies arrived to find that the incident had occurred in the front lawn of a residence there and had resulted in one victim with severe injuries. “When officers arrived, EMS was removing a subject from here from a gunshot wound. He was transferred to Longview, to Good Shepherd where he was later pronounced deceased later this morning,” Chief Deputy Hall Reavis said. He was identified as Jeremy Vick, 35. His next of kin have been notified. The suspect in the shooting was seen by witnesses leaving the scene and the hunt for the man is still ongoing. Hall said witnesses reported seeing a heavy-set white male suspect leaving the scene in a dark SUV with unreported license plate numbers. Reavis said deputies have been interviewing neighbors and people who knew the victim for more information on who the suspect could be. They have also thoroughly searched and processed the crime scene for any other information in hopes it will give them more of an idea of who the suspect is. “We have a crime scene person who has been working the scene, she documents with photos, gathers any trace evidence, attempting to obtain any type of DNA, fingerprints projectiles, casings, anything to that nature,” Reavis said. The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about this incident to report what they know.
