SHREVEPORT, La. – One man is in custody but the hunt is still on for another in the deadly shooting Wednesday on the Walgreens parking lot. Kelvin Lewis was arrested in Arlington, Texas, Friday on charges unrelated to the homicide. However, Shreveport police have issued an arrest warrant for him for second-degree murder in Billy Jamison’s shooting death. Still wanted in connection with Jamison’s death is Larry Lewis, 44. He’s related to Kelvin Lewis but the connection wasn’t immediately known, Cpl. Chris Bordelon said. A $5,000 reward is still offered for Larry Lewis’ arrest. Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed his gratitude to the community for their support and the valuable information provided during this investigation. “This calculated and heinous crime shook our community to its core. Thanks to the relentless work of our Violent Crimes Unit and the cooperation of the public, we have made critical progress toward bringing justice to the victim and their family,” said Smith. SPD homicide detectives have been working nonstop over the past 72 hours to track down Jamison’s killer. Jamison, 67, was robbed and killed while making a delivery to Walgreens at the corner of Line Avenue and Kings Highway. He was a pharmaceutical sales rep who worked as an independent contractor. Jamison was robbed at another Walgreens in October. Police are investigating any possible connection between the two.
