NATCHITOCHES, La. – Natchitoches police have arrested one of two suspects wanted in the shooting death last week of a 17-year-old. Arrest warrants were issued for Alasia Lashay Hamilton, 20, and Jody Hamilton, 16, both of Natchitoches, for second-degree murder in the Sept. 24 shooting death of Matthew Daniels, 17. Jody Hamilton was arrested Monday without incident and placed in youth detention in Jackson Parish. Alasia Hamilton is still wanted. The shooting happened in the 800 block of July Street. Officers responded to a shots fired call and were told the Daniels had already been taken to the hospital, where he later died. Call Natchitoches Crime Stoppers at (318) 238-2388 with any information on Alasia Hamilton's whereabouts. A cash reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
