One man was flown to a Golden Triangle hospital with serious injuries and seven other people had non-life threatening injuries following a three-vehicle collision west of Jasper over the weekend. Emergency crews were sent to the crash at the intersection of Highway 190 West at Farm to Market Road 777 in the Beech Grove Community at about 4:30 late Sunday afternoon.
The highway was completely shut down for about 20 minutes to allow a medical helicopter to land, load their patient, and lift off.
According to Sergeant Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety, 67-year-old Rex Bryan, of Jasper, was traveling northbound on FM-777 in his 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck. Davis said Bryan, after stopping at the stop sign, pulled out and struck a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica van, which was eastbound on Highway 190 and driven by Carrie Wilburn, 45, of Colmesneil. The van went out of control and slid off the south side of Highway 190.
Davis said the Dodge truck then spun around and was struck by a westbound 2014 Dodge Durango SUV, driven by Jerri Moore, 32, of Orange. The victims of any accident could learn more at Flagler Personal Injury Group to get legal help.
Rex Bryan was flown by Southeast Texas Air Rescue to Christus St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment, while Wilburn and her 11-year-old daughter and two other passengers in the van, along with Moore and four other passengers in the SUV, including a 2-year-old, were all transported to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.
