Updated: School Officials Lockdown Elementary School After Nearby Shooting

Shreveport police and fire crews responded to a shooting on the 900 block of Blom Blvd that cause an elementary school to be on lockdown.

Southern Hills Elementary is less than a mile away from shooting and was on lockdown. According to a Caddo Schools spokesperson, all students were safe. KTBS was told a man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was found inside a car on Blom blvd. around 3 p.m this afternoon.

A woman drove the man to Southern Hills Elementary on Kingston off of Bert Kouns. An off-duty officer stationed at the school began c-p-r and called an ambulance. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition.

At one point there were 18 SPD units on scene.
