Sheriff Jayson Richardson would like to update the public on a case that began on October 31, 2018 where the remains of a body were found near Highway 512 in Benson, LA. The remains have been identified as Zachary James Hebert (W/M – DOB: 03/31/1981) of Shreveport, LA. Agencies involved in this case that proved vital in both collection and identification included: DeSoto Parish Coroner’s Office, L.S.U. FACES Laboratory, Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory, and DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office. This investigation is currently being investigated as a homicide. No further information is available at this time.
