The man found dead in DeSoto Parish Tuesday was shot and his body wrapped in plastic, Sheriff Jayson Richardson said.
A preliminary identification has been made, but fingerprints are being processed to make a positive identification. Once that’s done, the man’s family will be notified.
“Before the day is over we may be able to release his name,” Richardson said.
The DeSoto Parish coroner determined the man’s body had been in the Dolet Hills area for three to four days. Initial speculation was that it was there a longer period of time. However, the plastic material the man was wrapped in was sealed, making it difficult at first to determine a time frame.
The man had been shot multiple times, Richardson said.

NEAR MANSFIELD, La. – For the second time in less than a week a body has been found in a wooded area in DeSoto Parish.
