Update: Crews Working Major Fire at Campti Grocery Store

UPDATE: U.S. 71 is back open in Campti now that an overnight blaze has been extinguished. There are no reports of any injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY: Several agencies in Natchitoches Parish are working a major fire in Campti.

It was reported at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, January 20th, at M&M Grocery and the home behind it. Those are located in the 3200 block of U.S. 71.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Fire District#9 with mutual aid assistance from Fire Districts #3 and #6, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS and SWEPCO are all on the scene.

Deputies have closed U.S. 71 south of Campti to thru traffic. If you’re traveling through the area, you’ll need to use an alternate route. So far, there’s no word on any injuries. We’ll be checking with deputies throughout the morning to find out about any new developments.
