Two Killed in Tyler County Crash

Two people are dead following a late Wednesday morning crash in Tyler County. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said it occurred shortly after 11:00 on Highway 287 at Farm to Market Road 256, about 6 miles northwest of Woodville.

Clark said a 2020 Kia SUV was westbound on FM 256 when the driver failed to yield right-of-way at the intersection and pulled out in front of a fully loaded log truck which was northbound on Highway 287.

Sergeant Clark said the log truck hit the driver side of the small SUV and then the big-rig rolled over into a ditch.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the log truck was identified as Christopher Faulkenberry, 31, of Woodville. He was not injured.
