Two Dead Following Monday Evening Crash on I-10

The Texas Department of Public Safety has released additional information regarding the auto accident that occurred shortly after 8:00 on Interstate 10, west of Beaumont on Monday evening leaving two people dead and others injured.

Troopers said the driver of a 2004 Honda passenger car was traveling west and a 2019 Dodge passenger van was traveling east when the crash occurred. Officers said the Honda driver failed to travel in a single lane and veered into the eastbound lane near Farm to Market road 365, striking the Dodge.

The driver of the Honda is identified as Kelvin Rivera, 28, of Houston. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. The passenger has been identified as Tulio Funes Canales, 40, of Houston who died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, Andresina Borja, 32, of San Antonio. Borja was transported to Baptist Hospital for treatment. The passenger has been identified as Timotea Borja, 71, of San Antonio was also pronounced dead at the scene.
