No one was injured when a large eighteen wheeled tractor trailer truck turned over in the middle of Milam Street on Thursday morning.
Police, fire and other emergency crews were called to the location just east of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department shortly after 9:00, when it was reported that the incident had occurred.
Police and firemen helped the driver, Robert Earl Hight, of Center climb out of the truck. Hight, 58, did not appear to be injured and he declined medical treatment.
Officers said it appeared that the 2000 Peterbilt which was owned and operated by B&K Trucking of San Augustine had just dumped a load of rock at the Few Ready Mix Concrete plant with the dump bed partially raised, when it snagged a power line, causing the truck to turn over.
The roadway was blocked for a short time until Leon Clark and his crew from Jasper Towing and Recovery could upright the truck and remove it from the street.
