The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas has announced that Paul Wayne Kennedy, 39, of Henderson, TX, has received a federal prison sentence for burglarizing multiple post offices in Texas and Louisiana.
Kennedy entered guilty pleas in April 2021, on charges of burglary of a United States Post Office, possession of stolen mail, possession of stolen money orders, damage to government property, theft of government property, and access device fraud.
The post offices involved were closed for Christmas in 2019 in Bon Wier, TX, Bronson, Texas, Newton, TX, Price, Texas, and Evans, LA.
Kennedy was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle to 2 years and 9 months in federal prison.
Prosecutors say Angela Moore, 37, of Longview, assisted Kennedy in the crimes at the Newton and Price Post Offices. Moore pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of stolen mail and she is currently serving a 6 month federal prison sentence.
