Republican State Representative James White of Woodville has announced he’s running for Texas Agriculture Commissioner. Incumbent Republican Sid Miller has announced he’s running for re-election.
“Texas leads the nation in agriculture,” said White.. “Our state would not be the same without the hardworking farmers and ranchers that provide the fuel, fiber, and food for our nation. The combination of my proven conservative record, experience on agriculture issues, and commitment to integrity and ethics makes me the right candidate to steer this crucial agency back in the right direction.”
White revealed to KFDM/Fox 4 several weeks ago that he was likely to run for state office after the Republican from District 19 announced he wouldn’t seek reelection to the Texas House seat he’s held since 2010.
