Slight Chance of Severe Weather on Wednesday

The passage of a cool front on Wednesday will bring beautiful weather to this region for several days, including the weekend and into next week. However, the National Weather Service in Lake Charles is issuing advisories that with the cool front will come a slight possibility of severe weather late Wednesday morning.

Forecasters say the primary threat will be damaging straight-line winds and isolated tornadoes.

With a 100% coverage of rain predicted and up to 1.5 inches of rain possible, the line of thunderstorms associated with the cool front is expected to push through this area from about 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and should be completely out of the area and crossing southwest Louisiana by the early afternoon hours.

Following the passage of the cool front, we’re predicted to have clear days and nights, lower humidity, and night-time lows in the upper 40’s to lower 50’s and daytime highs in the 70’s.
