Shreveport Firefighters Rescue Woman from the Red River

Shreveport firefighters rescued woman Thursday afternoon from the waters of the Red River.

First responders were sent to the boat launch at the end of East Stoner Avenue where the woman had entered the water.

Authorities says the woman was found south of the Shreveport/Barksdale Bridge.

Bossier City firefighters were dispatched to the Jimmie Davis bridge to standby in case Shreveport could not find the woman.

EMS examined the female and she was taken to a local hospital.
