The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office has resumed a search to find a missing man.
Arthur Wright, Jr., 85, is believed to have walked away from his home, and someone may have picked him up, according to SPSO. He was reported missing from his Mallard Road home off La. 175 near Bellmont.
Wright’s wife and son left for a doctor’s appointment Wednesday morning around 5 a.m. Upon return, he was gone.
He reportedly uses a cane to walk. He has dementia and is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Wright may be wearing a long sleeve striped shirt and grey pants.
Wright is 5′6″ and weighs 100 pounds. He has grey hair and a beard.
“Sheriff Deputies, 1st Responders, Chief Deputy Brad Walker and Sheriff Aaron Mitchell themselves began the search of the wooded area around Wright’s home, along with his family and friends,” reads a Facebook post. “Cold-nosed tracking dogs from Shreveport Fire & Rescue were contacted and joined the search. Dogs picked up Wright’s scent and tracked down Mallard Road towards Lone Star Road where the scent was lost.”
A report came in that Wright was spotted at a Walmart around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. However, investigators determined that man was not Wright.
Anyone with any information on Wright’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office at (318) 256-9241.
