The Sabine County Commissioners Court met in emergency session on Tuesday afternoon and implemented a burn ban which took
effect immediately. This comes as extremely dry conditions have set in over Deep East Texas, and local fire departments are warning residents that
wildfires could be a major problem in the coming days. Sabine County officials are reminding citizens that a violation of the order could cost them up to $500.00 in fines.
