Rosepine Man Arrested for Making a False Report of a Stolen Food Trailer

Simon Lance Isom, 48 of Rosepine, was arrested on February 26, 2020, by the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding the reported theft a food trailer valued at $46,000 from his residence.

Isom reported that he arrived at home to find the custom food trailer missing. When speaking with deputies, Isom indicated that he was not delinquent on any payments and that the trailer could not have been repossessed.

The investigation revealed that Isom had leased the trailer from a Houston Company who, when contacted, indicated that Isom was delinquent on payments and arrangements had been made for it to be returned on the day it was stolen.

The theft was reported to the leasing company about 4:00 p.m. on February 26, 2020 and the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office was called after 8:00 p.m that night.

The rental company was able to provide GPS coordinates locating the trailer in Waller County, TX. Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the Waller County Sheriff’s office, who located the trailer at a residence in Pattison, TX, where Isom had asked to store it.

Following the investigation Isom was arrested and charged with one (1) count of filing or maintaining public records. Bond was set at $5,000. Isom posted bond and was released. The food trailer was returned to the Houston-based leasing company.
