A report from the National Weather Service has confirmed three EF-1 tornadoes touched down within 38 minutes the morning of May 2 in Texas and Louisiana.

The first touched down at 6:30 a.m. near a pasture 7 miles north-northwest of Huxley, Texas.

According to the report, it uprooted and snapped numerous trees then damaged a small farm outbuilding. The tornado continued northeast and snapped several trees near a home but did not damage it.

It also crossed Shelby County Road 3376, snapping and uprooting more trees before causing some minor roof damage to a chicken house on FM 139.

The second EF-1 tornado, 2 miles south of Stanley, touched down at 6:40 a.m. along Duck Lane and continued northwest, snapping and uprooting numerous hardwood trees along Louisiana Highway 191. A metal awning was lifted off of the roof of a mobile home on Roberts Road. The tornado continued northwest, snapping a few more trees along Straus and Roberts roads before lifting.

The third tornado, in Mansfield, briefly touched down at 7:08 a.m. just southwest of US Highway 84 at Oak Hill Road. It snapped several trees and destroyed several small sheds.

That tornado also ripped the roof off a metal awning and snapped a light pole off its concrete base.
