No Injuries When Delivery Truck Crashes During Heavy Rain

Fortunately, there were no injuries when a delivery truck went out of control and rolled over during a heavy rain storm late Wednesday morning. It happened shortly after 11:00 on U.S. Highway 96 North, near Old Miller’s Grocery.

The truck came to rest on its side in the center median of the highway, and the first emergency crews on the scene reported that the driver was ok.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said 43-year-old Anthony Fowler, of Jasper, was driving the 2007 Freightliner northbound. Sergeant Clark said Fowler was “…traveling at an unsafe speed given the rainy weather and wet roads, causing it to hydroplane into the center median, overturning on its left side.”
