Caddo Parish sheriff’s deputies said a 7-year-old child reported missing in the Vivian area was found after several hours of searching.
Albert Maggett was found safe.
Earlier Wednesday, Child Protective Services personnel went to an address in the 1500 block of Pardue Street in Vivian to take custody of Maggett by order of the court. Maggett’s mother, Devin Michelle Smith, ran away with the child.
She was found later but didn’t have Maggett with her. Witnesses told deputies he was seen around 3:30 p.m. near South Pardue and East Pennsylvania streets with a man.
Deputies found Maggett at a neighbor’s house, where he had been dropped off.
Bruce Anderson, 56, was arrested and charged with simple kidnapping.
Smith, 36, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for interfering with child custody.
