A 64-year-old Sabine Parish resident was fatally shot early Wednesday morning.
And a man who recently was released on bond on a previous armed robbery charge is accused of killing him.
Police also have arrested another man in connection with the homicide.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the East Louisiana Avenue area at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday, the Many Police Department reports.
While searching for who was responsible for the gunfire, officers found the body of 64-year-old Aly Sintra Garner, of the 300 block of Andrew Street.
He had been been shot once in the right side of his chest.
Garner was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Sabine coroner’s office.
Police subsequently arrested 18-year-old Isom Jermaine Scott Jr., of the 200 block of Lincoln Street in Many, on one count each of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
And officers booked 18-year-old Alonzo Dharry Carter, also of Andrew Street in Many, on one count each of principal to first-degree murder and principal to armed robbery.
