Man Found Shot Inside Car in Natchitoches; Police Investigating

Authorities are investigating a shooting that took place Thursday, April 25 in Natchitoches. According to a news release, officers responded to a call from Ashley Pye, who said her child’s father, Patrick Howard, had been shot.

Upon arrival, they found Howard inside of his car, suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Rapides General Hospital, in Alexandria.

The department’s Criminal Investigations Division was notified and responded to the area.

While on the scene, detectives obtained suspect information and an arrest warrant was secured for Jaterrion Rainey, for attempted first degree murder.

Rainey was located and is currently being held by the Houston Police Department.
