KETK out of Tyler, TX, has posted that a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety states that Aaron Robert Allen, 31, of Pineville, LA, was driving west in a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette on U.S. Highway 79 west of Carthage, TX, around 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
Allen passed a car on the two-lane road in heavy fog and struck an on coming 2012 Ford F-250 head-on. Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford was identified as Dale W. Eldredge, 74, of Gary, TX. His passenger was 61-year-old Amanda Duckworth, also a Gary native. They were both taken to a hospital in Henderson in critical condition.
Allen was the lead singer for the Southern Plainsmen Quartet.
