On Wednesday, Cassetti Dewayne Brown, 53, of Leesville, was sentenced to a total of 165 years behind bars for various drug charges stemming from offenses in 2017.

Overall, Brown was found guilty on six of eight charges and not guilty on two others.

The drug charges included Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and possession of methamphetamine around June 2017. The 35 and 25 year sentences will run consecutively.

Brown will also service consecutive sentences for illegally carrying a firearm while unlawfully in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (35) and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (35). Brown’s Bill of Information states that he was previously convicted of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance on May 7, 1995. His full release date from that conviction is listed as May 24, 2008.

Brown’s second drug distribution charge for cocaine in October 2017 and synthetic cannabinoids carry sentences of 35 years at hard labor and 6 months in the parish jail and are to be served concurrently
