The JRTC Fort Polk Visitor Control Center will reduce its hours effective Saturday, February 5, 2022.
The Visitors Center will begin opening at 8 a. m. and closing at 4 p. m. on Saturdays and Sundays, following an extensive workload and demand study which demonstrated little to no customer activity before 8 a.m. and after 4 p.m.
Personnel will need to plan ahead when having guests arrive after 4 p.m. on the weekends.
Personnel that are hosting special events will need to plan ahead and arrange for access early as well.
Personnel that require access to the installation can pick up passes at the Visitors Center prior to closure.
Personnel are encouraged to meet their guests at the Visitors Center after 4 p.m. on the weekends and escort them onto the installation when picking up a pass early is not an option.
Changes in Visitors Center weekend hours of operation do not affect personnel that are being escorted by authorized sponsors or personnel that already have an access control pass or card. Monday through Friday the Visitors Center hours will remain the same — 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
