The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a weekend incident in which shots were fired into a vehicle. According to department spokeswoman Karli Cherry, it occurred at an unknown time on Sunday at a location on Highway 96, south of Kirbyville.
Cherry said that Deputy Cal Morgan responded he learned that the suspect was upset over a vehicle trade, which was followed by shots being fired into the vehicle.
Meanwhile, Cherry said charges are being filed against the suspect.
No other information was released.
