A Jasper woman has been arrested in nearby Vernon Parish. The sheriff’s department there says 37-year-old Jennifer Rose Dowden Bebee was taken into custody on Friday, October 8th on a charge of Theft.
Detective Rhonda Jordan says Bebee recently purchased a vehicle from someone in Vernon Parish, but she did so with a “fraudulent negotiable instrument”, which Jordan explained was a counterfeit check.
Jasper County Jail arrest reports show that Bebee has been arrested here several times over the last two years on similar charges.
At last word Bebee remained in the Vernon Parish Jail.
