Sheriff Aaron Mitchell and the staff of the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office want to wish everyone a happy and safe Independence Day weekend.
Independence Day, also called 4th of July, in the United States, is the annual celebration of nationhood. It commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.
Our administrative offices will be closed Monday, July 5th. Sabine Parish Sheriff Dispatch and Patrol Divisions will operate as normal.
Extra Patrol Deputies will be patrolling throughout the weekend in Sabine Parish.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries Agents and Sabine Parish Sheriff Deputies will be on Toledo Bend Lake during the holiday weekend. They will be enforcing boating laws, on the look-out for impaired watercraft operators, and to help anyone in distress.
Sheriff Mitchell reminds everyone to practice fireworks safety, wear your lifejacket when you are on the water, and do not drink and operate a vehicle or watercraft.
Sheriff Aaron Mitchell is proud and honored to be YOUR Sheriff of Sabine Parish.
