The manager of a Hemphill restaurant has been arrested on charges related to drug activity and theft, which follows an October 27th evidentiary search warrant that was executed at the business on the Hemphill Courthouse Square.

Daily News & More is reporting that Cliff Young, the manager of Slice Pizza, was arrested on November 2nd and has been charged with felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and felony Theft. He’s currently free from the Sabine County Jail on a $15,000.00 bond.

A probable cause affidavit, which was obtained by Daily News & More, said that Sabine County deputies searched the business with consent from Chris Peters, who is the owner of the building and the restaurant.

The affidavit said deputies found drug paraphernalia, clear plastic baggies containing residue that tested positive for methamphetamine, spoons used for drug activity, and digital scales coated with methamphetamine residue.

The affidavit also said that on or about October 21st, a large commercial grade mixer with floor stand, valued at about $6,000.00, went missing from the business, and witnesses saw two men loading it into the back of a pickup truck on the Courthouse parking lot. The affidavit went on to say that it was discovered that the mixer had been posted for sale on Facebook Marketplace by Young, and a buyer had wrote Young a check for $1,200,00 to purchase the mixer. The affidavit also said that the mixer had been located.

Meanwhile, Daily News & More reports that Slice Pizza has been closed for over a week, and the future of the restaurant is not known.
