Fed Task Forces

Sheriff Aaron Mitchell and Chief Deputy Brad Walker announce five Sabine Parish Sheriff Deputies recently became members of Federal Task Forces.
These Deputies are represented by the United States Marshals Service (USMS), Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms & Explosives (ATF), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and United States Secret Service (USSS).
All five Deputies were officially sworn-in and received federal commissions from these respective federal agencies.
One Deputy is a member of the US Marshal Violent Offender Task Force, a Deputy is a member of the ATF Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force, two Deputies are members of the FBI Northwest Louisiana Violent Crimes Task Force, and one Deputy is a member of the US Secret Service Southwest Louisiana Cyber Fraud Task Force.
Sheriff Mitchell pointed out how tremendously important and valuable it is to be members of these Federal Task Forces. Sheriff Mitchell said the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office has never had task force members in all four of these federal agencies.
The Sheriff’s Office receives federal help, equipment, and resources with fugitive apprehension, narcotic and firearm investigations, and cybercrime and digital evidence investigations under these Task Forces.
Sheriff Mitchell added the Sheriff’s Office has also been able to obtain numerous federal indictments in narcotic and firearm arrests over the last two years. The partnerships with these federal agencies help to make this possible.
Sheriff Mitchell humbly thanks these federal agencies for their consideration and assistance to his Deputies.
Sheriff Mitchell and Chief Deputy Walker congratulate these Deputies for their sacrifice, dedication, long hours, and commitment to the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office.
