DeSoto sheriff’s investigators are following up on leads after finding a man dead in his front yard early Thursday morning, Sheriff Jayson Richardson said.
The man, Roy Long, 64, died of a gunshot wound, Richardson said.
The sheriff’s office received a call around 5:45 a.m. that a man was seen in a yard in the 2000 block of Marshall Road just north of state Highway 3015. Investigators learned Long lived at that residence.
Deputies said the death is being treated as a homicide.
